CheeseGiftshop Magna Plaza

The Magna Plaza is a shopping centre housed in the former central post office of Amsterdam. The imposing façade positioned between the Palace on the Dam (het Paleis) and the New Church (de Nieuwe Kerk) has been a familiar sight for almost a century, first as the main post office, later a shopping centre of international allure.
In 1992, this beautiful structure was added to the list of the ten most valuable monuments in the city of Amsterdam. Four renowned architects were invited to submit redevelopment plans for the building. The Magna Plaza now resides here, the first covered shopping and lifestyle centre in the heart of the city. Two open spaces beside the central hall ensure a spacious feeling from the basement level to the roof, a sensation that is only reinforced by the natural lighting that floods the building through the enormous glass cupola roof.

Our CheeseGiftShop is located in the entrance hall, where a selection of various cheeses can be found. In addition to our cheese specialties, we also have delectable, finely-made chocolate and other traditional Dutch souvenirs for sale.
